I started this project around 2019 thinking it would take half the time it took to complete. But so much has happened in the world, and so quickly and with such fervancy — both in good and not so good ways, that I had to keep expanding and refining the book’s message. Often I quote theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking when he said aggression would be the downfall of civilization, though, he countered it by stating that empathy would be our course correction.
